Wow! That title is a mouthful!
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for my blog. It was a slow year compared to when I started writing but it was considerably more productive than 2012.
I find that I don’t have much to say these days. That’s a lie. I have lots to say, I just don’t have the time I need to say it right. So, what did I do this year? Well…
2013 was a rough year, but also a good year. I finally found my place in academia and switched from a science degree to art history. With that change came a major research project, a conference, and presentation at the MIA. I lost my grandmother but found myself. I realized where I want things to go over the next four years. I read some things, I wrote some things, and I learned how to be happy. I watched a lot of football and tried not to get shot.
Mostly, I just tried to get through each day without losing my marbles. I tried to be a devoted girlfriend, fun stepmom, caring daughter, excellent student, and all around good person. I didn’t do all of those things well all of the time, but I feel like I did an ok job most of the time. That is all I can ask of myself.

Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,300 times in 2013. If it were a cable car, it would take about 22 trips to carry that many people.
