Mystery Diagnosis: The Real Life Version

I love you from the bottom of my kidney...

I feel like I’m slowing coming closer to finding out what has been plaguing me for the past three years.

Here’s the update since Wednesday:

So I was able to contact a gastroenterologist.  However, since he’s a specialist I can’t get in to see him until December.  I told the nice nurse on the phone I didn’t care how long it took to see him, just sign me up.  She kindly put me on the doctor’s “FASTPASS” list so if somebody cancels, I get to move to the front of the line.

Helicobacter pylori...It doesn't feel this cute.

Since I work in the animal medical field, I do know how annoying it is when clients come in with their pet’s “diagnosis”…that they found on WebMD or Wikipedia (the internet is your best friend and worst enemy).  However, I have had three years to ponder what might or might not be wrong with me.  While I will not go in and demand that my doctor diagnose this or that, I do have a list of diagnoses to rule out and tests that I am requesting.

  1. Helicobacter pylori
  2. Hyperparathyroidism
  3. Peptic Ulcer
  4. Pancreatitis
  5. Kidney Stones
I’m sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all the time.  I’m being proactive now.  If my doctors are not ok with that, I’m ok with finding new doctors.  I will not take this lying down anymore.  I will not be sick forever.  I will be heard!

A champagne toast to any doctor who can diagnose this mystery illness!
